“ The golf course is a bad business idea. I don’t think the golf course is going to make money and if I were an investor I would never invest in this.” Lake County Commissioner Michelle Feldman (in her vote FOR the golf course)
Apparently believing that running an ethical government needs to result in ineffective and lose-lose decision making, Lake County Commissioner Michelle Feldman says about Fort Sheridan, ” give the land back.” No golf course. No public access. Michelle Feldman’s recommendation: give this land to the US Government and make this a cemetery. If we can’t cut the baby in half, we’ll just give it up for adoption, by the US Army.
Way to go, Michelle. I, for one, think this is a (expletive deleted) stupid idea which achieves nothing and puts the entire region at risk to the even-more random decision making of the US government. What (expletive deleted) are you thinking, Michelle?
But let’s start where we agree. You said, “ The golf course is a bad business idea. I don’t think the golf course is going to make money and if I were an investor I would never invest in this. If there were to be a golf course, I don’t see anything that would be successful except a high end 18-hole course.”
Unfortunately, Feldman’s conviction that the course would be a failure and belief that the land should be returned to the US Army was apparently just an hallucination. Or a useless “I told you so.” Because when it came time to actually cast a vote, Commissioner Feldman held her finger up to the wind if not to her constituents and
said with no conviction at all, “I’ll support whatever this group wants to do…if you want to go out and get an RFP, fine, I support it” adding snarkily, “I believe the RFP is going to fail.”
Thank you, Michelle. You’ve been a pillar of leadership and vision. You have led us deep into the wilderness of missed opportunity. I hope the cemetery is named after you so your name appears by the “US Government. No trespassing.” sign.

How did she get elected. Another one to vote out next election.
